Legality | During the 126th meeting of the Syndicate, the university's highest decision-making body, held on June 22, 1978, the Bureau of Socioeconomic Research and Training (BSERT) was authorized to seek, accept, and manage national and international grants and funds for research and training activities.

Members of the Bureau are involved in commissioned research and provide consultancy services to both national and international organizations. |
Resources | The Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology consists of five departments with over 60 faculty members. Most faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees from international institutions and are actively involved in research projects. As a result, BAU has become the largest repository of highly qualified agricultural economic scientists in the country. |
Service Charge | The charges set out in No. MEC/29/BSERT Date: 16.05.2023,
Sec (5) “The Bureau of Socioeconomic Research and Training (BSERT) will receive
overhead costs from providing services for research projects from government,
non-government, and foreign projects, with the exception of all personnel
expenses. Four to five percent for national and six to seven
percent for international projects of operating expenses will be the range for
the overhead cost rate. The managing committee of BSERT will have the power to
amend these fees and charges as needed”. |
Tax Identification Number (TIN) | In Bangladesh, income tax is administered under two tax legislations: "The Income Tax Ordinance, 1984 (XXXVI of 1984)" and "The Income Tax Rules, 1984." According to Section 6 of the Income Tax Ordinance, the following entities are required to pay tax and must have a Tax Identification Number (TIN): - Any company registered under the Company Act of 1913 or 1994.
- Any non-governmental organization (NGO) registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau.

Whistleblowing | As a public university, Bangladesh Agricultural University must adhere to the national rules and regulations set by the government. All teachers at this university are government employees, and thus fall under the Whistleblower Act [Act No. 7 (2011)]. According to Section 10(3) of this act: "If the whistleblower is a government officer and he discloses any false information as mentioned in sub-section (1), departmental actions shall be taken against him along with the punishment mentioned in sub-section (2)."

BAU Sexual Harassment Guideline | BAU Sexual Harassment and Violence Protection Guideline was approved during the 291st meeting of the syndicate, recorded as the 15th decision, on October 24, 2009. This guideline adheres to the "Sexual Harassment and Violence Protection Guideline 2008" issued by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. |
